AVERSION: TENDENCIES OF ATTACHMENT
Share
Aversion: a tendency to extinguish a behavior or to avoid a thing or situation and especially a usually pleasurable one because it is or has been associated with a noxious stimulus.
But what does it mean for you? To hide, to flee, to feel uneasy? Maybe the attachment of it all makes you so airhead tight full of hope that it could work out. Or maybe is that just the trick? One small gesture could make you spiral, but then the memories of it all crash onto the black asphalt; saturated with the apprehension and reflection of abandonment.
Now look where you are, back in the same place you started, all alone. Listening to songs that made you once happy, to feel. “Pity”, I say. We always pledge never to let anyone run our lives, but then love strikes and gives us the gift and a curse, limerence. Compelled to be, showing up unannounced to be left ashamed of those actions and the delivery of heartbreak.
